Leading up to Unique LA was so very busy in the very best way. New prints have been added to the shop already...fresh cards and jewelry items coming this week. It was absolutely wonderful to meet so many new people and see many who have purchased from me before. My family was such a big help, I really couldn't have and wouldn't want to do it without them.

Unique is coming to San Francisco and New York, too! The focus is designers and artists who are local and make their products in America. It is truly unique and the largest independent design show in the country. On top of the shopping you meet the artists, there are DIY crafts and amazing food. 

Today I caught up on sleep.

Then late in the evening I discovered a critter dug up a few of our precious tulip bulbs that were still in the ground growing big and fat for next year. This made me so sad. Hopefully we can salvage the rest and some of our family will have extras they can pass on to us next year.

Each year a new poster is chosen for this frame, a fresh mantra thanks to The Poster List!

My hard work and late nights were greatly rewarded on Saturday and Sunday at Unique LA.
As you can see I sought out Jambas, pies, green tea and cookies for sustenance. Thank you to everyone who helped me (I owe you!) and everyone who visited my table and purchased items from me. It warms my heart when someone asks if I am the artist, is excited about seeing my work for the first time or tells me they come each year just to seek out my creations. There is something extra special about the Holiday Unique LA, although I'm getting more sleep this week I kinda miss all the late night preparations.

Unique LA is this weekend! There will be over 300 vendors selling their Made in America items and food for every single taste bud. I Heart Pies is one of my very favorites, I've been craving a chicken pot pie from them since Spring. I will be at Table 49 with glittered acorns, prints, cards, garlands, jewelry and ornaments.

A nice surprise for me when I attended the vendor meeting for the upcoming Unique LA holiday show...my new deer cards are featured on the promotional postcard!  And that was in addition to being inspired by Sonja's talk and getting a delicious glazed donut while waiting in the lobby of the Grammy museum. If you are in the LA area or within a couple hours driving distance this show is very much worth it. The focus is quality unique handmade in America items! I do most all of my own holiday shopping just at this one event and sometimes you see celebrities, too! Spread the word....


Today Hermie and I snuggled and watched Big and then later E.T. which pretty much made it a perfect day...Hermie snuggles and good movies.

after many full days, it was quite nice to lounge around with Hermie in our jammies all day


Each time I'm at Unique LA I like to find a piece of art to take home. It is extra special to meet the artist, as was this time when I met Madeleine from The Panorama Press. Her work is delightful as is she.

The weekend was not without it's sugar...the S'muffins (a muffin shaped s'more!) booth was giving out free samples, I sampled at least three over the two days until Mom finally bought some for us to take home.

My neighbor's Emily and Nicholas from I Heart Pies were as sweet as could be. If you've never had their chicken mushroom pot pie I hope you find a way to have one, it was absolutely delicious, as was the berry pie, too!  I ♡ I Heart Pies.

...ever since I read about Lisa Swerling's Glass Cathedrals I could not wait to see them in person
they were sparkly and lovely and dark and bright and deep and thoughtful...brilliant tiny worlds contained in glass right in the middle of Unique LA, very nice!

Thank yous all around to Sonja and her Unique LA team, it is always an amazing show and just keeps getting more amazing!! Thank you Mom and Case for working my table with me, I couldn't and wouldn't want to do it any other way. Thank you to everyone who visited and purchased from me, it is truly a treat to work directly with each person. xo

So after a restful day it is back to work tomorrow. Shop update and portrait galleries here I come....

today when I was making a pear cranberry crisp I wished for ten more baking days,
but was oh so grateful for this one...

to have crossed paths with her last spring...I love this ring

Unique LA was absolutely amazing! The long nights, early mornings, and a house,
husband, three kitties and one dog covered in glitter are so worth it. To wrap up
goodies for people to give as gifts or sell cards that will be mailed to loved ones or
package up sparkly acorns for tree upon tree, it feels quite wonderful.

Thank you to everyone who visited and shopped at my table, Sonja for dreaming up
Unique, my favorite table neighbor Sasha Bell and Mom and Case, I could not and
would not want to do all of this without you two! xo

Well it is late and I have so many projects all around me to complete for Unique LA
this weekend. One of the things on my list was pretty holiday packaging for my jewelry
pieces. Brown paper packages tied up in string... now onto all the other things on the list!

Busy like this little bee preparing for spring shows...Unique LA and the Queen Bee Market.

hello Something new hanging on the wall, inspiration, motivation...but it's still okay to waste time sometimes.

...... Ornament exchange...made, packaged and sent, phew, wasn't sure I was going to make it on time this year.

Dad brought me California style acorns...thinking of something festive to do with them (thank you, Dad)

I bought it for myself at Unique, then Tiny Dancer danced all over it before I got to wear it, tiny paw prints are pretty, too.

...... Shhhhhh, did a little Christmas shopping, top secret.

...... This is it, the table, the product, hours of glitter, glue, thread, acorns, resin... Martha Stewart and Elf playing in the background, neglected kitties and Hermies... luckily it was wonderful, all worth it!!

Thank you to every single person who came by my table, that is the very best feeling to meet people who love and appreciate your work. Felt like a bit of a rock star for a teeny tiny minute on Saturday.

Friday night, after setting up for Unique, just Mom and I having the most delicious of dinners in a little restaurant in the fashion district, chatting, listening, laughing, buses passing and watching the people across the street working away in their studio late into the evening. (Thank you, Mom, xoxo.)
