The most important thing this weekend was celebrating Mom's birthday. Celebrating Mom...who takes care of all of us and doesn't ask for anything in return only to delight in seeing us happy. In her sixty two years so far she has finally let us look out for her a bit and doesn't seem to mind having three daughters who act like three mothers sometimes. This year she had quite a scare with her skin cancer and I'm so grateful I got to take her to her appointments and support her when she was frightened by what could go wrong. Luckily it all went right.

Mom is truly my best friend, having a uniquely special relationship with each one of her girls. I can share any secret with her. She knows if I have a headache or if something is wrong within two words of a conversation, this always amazes me. She encourages me to create and continue to grow. I am me because of her.

Mom lets me know every single day how much I am loved and that is a gift I hold tightly to my heart.

Thank you to everyone who came out for the Dreams of Spring opening last night. It was lovely to meet so many new people and Leanna Lin was a delight to work with. The show continues all month long!

This past week was a whirlwind of projects and to-dos, looking forward to a few naps and a very good book...any suggestions?

once upon a time...

...there was a beautiful, loving, giggly family with one ticklish baby, a princess daughter who wore golden shoes, and two happy parents.

I had the pleasure of photographing this very special family today. They came with smiles, cuddles, laughter and costumes, yes, very very adorable, indeed.

So while photographing quiet moments and chubby cheeks, leaves were literally falling all around us. A perfectly wonderful photo shoot to start this beautiful season!  {thank you!}

The first days of school have arrived. A friend of mine wasn't able to be there for the first three days of school in his first grade room, three very important days. He entrusted his twenty-four shining stars to me (I used to teach, and now sub occasionally for friends). G. wrote down that I was his best friend, I. tied everyone's shoes in knots but was only trying to help, L. became a sprinkling of tears at every recess and lunch, T. sneezed all over me more than once, S. told me his mom would be picking him up with her top down since it was hot, and A. wore the cutest outfit in the world with sparkly toed sneakers. Delightful, a little funny and exhausting all wrapped up in one.
