sunday morning was dusted in the closest thing to snow at my house...a blanket of sparkly frost


a birthday pocket journal memory, collecting sort of book

using photographs, paper and the good old sewing machine I created little pockets for each month

the idea is to tuck mementos into the pockets and add photographs along the way...

hoping by my friend's next birthday it will be a gift to look back on the previous year

the rose bushes are starting to fill in
sunsets glow in shades of pink, yellow and orange
an evening class is coming to an end
the days are hot and the nights are chilly
the shop has been updated, more to come
not muffins, but scones were baked twice this week...they were that good

On Sunday I did a photo shoot for this sweet family of three. Our time in the park overflowed with playfulness and laughter. I love that they brought a big pink ball and that mom and dad were up for going down the slides, sometimes all three together, and that piggybacks were given and bare feet ran through the grass, kisses were plentiful and we were all happy to follow those teeny tiny feet over bridges and down slides to capture the genuine happiness and love that is this family.

This perfectly beautiful tree grows at the end of my street. Bare or plentiful, green or red, wet with rain or illuminated in sunshine it gracefully grows into each season.

and sunshine in january, the flip flop short sleeve wearing kind of sunshine...sounds nice and really it is, but I'm missing my sweaters and scarves
