riceflourcakes

september1211_1
oops.

I accidentally used rice flour instead of buckwheat flour in the banana pancakes I made this morning. It
wasn't until the delicate little cakes crumbled when I flipped them that I realized my mistake.

Rather than waste the perfectly sweetened bananas that were already mixed in, I made the next ones smaller for easier flipping and they turned out quite good. The rice flour makes them light and dainty...I just might
do a half and half next time with the buckwheat flour.

waking up to blueberry pancakes from Case this morning

Home sweet home after two weeks away! I flew for over twelve hours, got my passport stamped and had a different gelato flavor almost everyday, can't wait to share the images...

sending you postcards... january2710_1 The bluebird giveaway has officially ended, the winner is Katy from Winsome Hollow! I appreciate all of the congratulations and kind words!! xoxo
......
...... january2810_2 These homemade chocolate peanut butter cups have been on my mind since before the holidays, but as time does...it snuck away from me. So happy I finally gathered the ingredients and made them, simple to create and just as delicious as I heard they would be.
......
...... january2610_1 Thank you....
Mom, the vegetarian lunch you made was delicious, and then to take an afternoon nap on the couch with the sounds of home whirring in the background, beyond comfort.
Samia from burrs & berries, this Valentine feature is beautiful!!
Pam for sending this link of the most delightful computer games, full of sweetness.
Dad, you read about Lily and her baby cub then shared it with all of us.
Candace, for the bag of fresh-from-the-garden-tomatoes-in-January! So good.
Jessica at indie icing, a lovey dovey hugs + kisses feature, with one of my garlands.
Chelsea from paper cake finds, for the oh so cute inclusion in this feature.
Vanessa, the artistic eye behind Little Gray Pixel for shining light on my brooch creations.

craving october2309_1 childhood
. . . . .
"That was the best breakfast I've had in a long time!" exclaimed Case. Nevermind the pancakes, banana peanut butter smoothies, greek yogurt with fruit, etc. that have been made, it genuinely makes me smile that a bowl of Fruity Pebbles made his day. ha ha.

last night's september3009_1 leftovers
......
yesterday...blueberry pancakes for dinner (thank you, Case), the first real fall day, an evening under a blanket watching Gone Baby Gone - even better the second time, new paper flowers, catching up with Kadee on the phone, then bed. As I warm up a single pancake wrapped up on a pink and white plate left just for me I miss the coziness of last night.

craving autumn
august1409_1
It may have been the chilly morning air, or the back-to-school commercials, the blog I read yesterday about preparing for the holiday season, or the plaid coat I fell in love with in the magazine I was reading...despite the fact that it is summer, and the sun is clearly warming up outside, I couldn't help myself from enjoying a warm bowl of quinoa with brown sugar and dried cranberries, just a glimpse of the season yet to come.
