Some very good friends are on an airplane right now headed to Italy for Christmas. Before departing on
their holiday adventure they treated us to homemade pizelles, raspberry linzer cookies and hazelnut linzer cookies. Kadee and I will happily be munching away on these as we knit all day long....

little snicker pieces atop caramel ice cream with a graham cracker crust...yum

I found this recipe on the Real Simple website while Googling "snickers ice cream pie."  It is very simple as the magazine indicates and a perfectly wonderful treat in the heat...more please. 

A few notes: Line up the Snickers pieces so it will slice easily once frozen, I did two layers. Put the ice cream on, then line up pieces of graham cracker to be the bottom. I think chocolate cookies would be good here, too.

salted caramel: a caramel cake layered in buttery caramel cream cheese dusted in fleur de sel crystals

Case had a fresh strawberry and Hermie had his usual carob . . . Sprinkles love all around!

Case surprised me with a cinnamon roll cupcake from Sprinkles.
He whispered "cinnamon roll" and they got him one from the super secret batch in the back.

It was just what I needed today...xo

burnt oatmeal


The scent of burnt oatmeal wafted through the house today. Hermie forgot all about it cooking on the stove when the garbage man distracted him into a barking frenzy, hence the burning...then I was cranky all afternoon...Happy New Year!
