Case and I just got back from a week in Holland. I'm still thinking about the pancake with fresh lemon juice and powdered sugar, how amazingly Rembrandt depicted light, the sweet postcards and magazine cutouts pasted onto Anne Frank's bedroom wall, Moeder's, Steen's sense of humor, a rainbow of tulips, riding bikes through Vondelpark, and finding shells left on the beach by the North Sea ...

Just last week I was walking along the Singel canal and now I'm home with confections to remind me and share, a sleeping Hermie, purring kitties and hundreds of photographs to sort!!!

a few thank yous when a thank you in a blog post is not nearly enough...
thank you Case for making it happen
thank you Mom & Dad for taking care of the kitties and Hermie Monster
xoxo

Fantastic photos!!
I've been to Amsterdam, but sadly only to the airport transferring planes on to Rome. My family comes from The Netherlands and one day I'd love to go.

Looks like a wonderful vacation! Coming home armed with photos and treats and memories is always so enjoyable too!

Thanks for sharing!!

The way you captured Holland, in word and picture, is just stunning. I've enjoyed following your blog - you are an inspiration to my inner, untalented creative self dying to get out!

Hello! I just stumbled across your blog. Your photos of A'dam are pitchperfect! The lowlands are always gorgeous gorgeous this time of year. And I'm SO GLAD you discovered stroopwafels. They're the number one reason I return to the Netherlands. Did you happen to find a Stroopwafel winkel (fresh stroopwafel boutique)? Absolutely to die for - not to exaggerate or anything. But seriously. So.freaking.good.
