eggshells
newspaper, seeds and cobs without corn
junk mail, mango pits, pineapple tops and sometimes a sprout
Taking care of the compost is Case's job, but then he went out of town for five days and I had to take it over. After grumbling to
Hermie for the first few days ... I found I liked moving the layers, burying the new bucketfuls, smelling the organic scent of decomposition, and seeing the new
Sun Chips bag disappear week after week. So maybe it is my job now, or we can share.

We don't compost anything but coffee grounds, vegie & fruit peelings and egg shells.
Do you have to shred the paper stuff? I must hurry & tell my husband we can more stuff to the compost!
Pretty soon we won't need a trash pick-up!!
Woo! Whooo!!
I've always wanted to do my own compost and be a little more environmentally conscious, but we live in an apt. building with asphalt all around us... That looks so cool, and I would have loved to see a Sun Chips bag disappear with time!!
Tali - I know that it's possible to do it in a container. Here's a friend who did it on her patio: http://markandanneb.blogspot.com/2010/05/another-qulaification-added-to-my.html she doesn't give too many details but it seems possible!
I didn't know that Sunchip bags were compostable. How cool is that?!
Wow, same as Tali, I want to compost but live in an apt but thanks to Katie I now know it's possible. I'll have to look up some info. I have a friend who has her trash can, her recycling box, and a compost jar that once it gets full she takes outside to compost. And that is so cool that there is a little sprout! Just goes to show that you're doing a good thing!
